Welcome to the Community, Culture and Global Studies website. Thanks for visiting our new website. The Community, Culture and Global Studies unit presents a stimulating and dynamic grouping of four overlapping, though distinctive, academic programs.

What are you interested in?

The unit is comprised of a broad range of faculty whose research is socially significant and contemporary. Our work covers issues as far ranging as the study of Whiteness in the Okanagan through to Participatory Mapping practice with Aboriginal communities in Canada and internationally.

Our research greatly influences our teaching and supervision at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. We offer an exciting range of courses that are both relevant to current issues and job opportunities, as well as contemporary theory and thought.

We encourage you to explore our website in more depth in order to get a clearer understanding about our faculty members and the type of research and teaching in which we are involved.

Interconnect, Innovate and Inspire!

Thanks to everyone who participated in this year's Interdiscipinary Graduate Student Conference on March 31st. It was a definite sucess, showcasing a variety of fascinating research projects from our UBC Okanagan graduate students. Thanks also to everyone who came out to support the students and tried to stump them with a question or two. For anyone who missed the event, the graduate students page provides details on everyone's research and still has the abstracts from the conference posted.
